The mineral oil in a cleansing cream dissolves grease and oil based products on the skin. A wax such a beeswax or parrafin wax is often added to give the cream a stiffer texture. The water content cools the skin and makes the cream easier to spread.

This type of skin has a good balance of oil and moisture secretions which keeps it soft, supple and flexible. Pores are small, texture is fine and even and the colour is healthy.
